portraittheater is an Austrian theatre company which focuses on extraordinary historical personalities, especially women, and brings their life and work to the stage. Since 2006 portraittheater has successfully produced plays about Hannah Arendt, Simone de Beauvoir, Bertha von Suttner, George Sand, Rosa Luxemburg, Marie Curie, Lise Meitner, Hedy Lamarr, K\u00e4the Leichter, Marie Jahoda and Emmy Noether. The shows were invited for guest performances in Austria and many other countries, e.g. Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Great Britain, Hungary, Iran, The Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United States.<\/span><\/p>\n

The play \u201eCurie_Meitner_Lamarr_indivisible\u201c<\/strong> is available for guest performances in English or German. The well-known actress Anita Zieher delivers a great performance in the three roles, directed by Sandra Sch\u00fcddekopf.<\/span><\/p>\n

Radiation. Nuclear fission. Frequency hopping.<\/span><\/h5>\n

Three outstanding pioneers represent the achievements of women in the field of science and technology: Double Nobel Prize winner and discoverer of radioactivity Marie Curie-Sklodowska (1867-1934), Austrian-Swedish nuclear physicist Lise Meitner (1878-1968) and Viennese Hollywood actress Hedy Lamarr (1914-2000) with her invention of frequency hopping.<\/span>
\nAnecdotes from their lives, achievements and obstacles as well as the contents of their research and the passion for their work are at the centre of the portraittheater play „Curie_Meitner_Lamarr_indivisible“. Complemented by music and videos with three girls asking pertinent questions the play is an entertaining portrait of extraordinary women in history, directed by Sandra Sch\u00fcddekopf, with Anita Zieher impersonating the three women.<\/span><\/p>\n

Anita Zieher<\/strong> lives as an actress in Vienna. After studying politics and communication in Salzburg she trained as an actress in Vienna in Vienna. In the productions of portraittheater she played Hannah Arendt, Simone de Beauvoir, Bertha von Suttner, George Sand, Rosa Luxemburg, Marie Curie, Lise Meitner and Hedy Lamarr. As chairwoman of the association she is also responsible for the production management. She won many prizes in theater as an improvisation player and comedian (Zieher&Leeb). www.anitazieher.at<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Sandra Sch\u00fcddekopf<\/b> lives as a director in Vienna. Over the period from 2001-2005 she worked as an assistant director at Burgtheater, where she also staged plays herself. Further performances at Schauspielhaus Graz, Munich Kammerspiele, the Schauspielhaus Vienna and at the Mainz State Theatre, where she won the director’s prize for her performance of „Larva“ of Natascha Gangl in 2009. A special focus of her work is new dramatic and adaptions of novels.<\/span><\/p>\n
